eww

We are watching American Idol and 4 girls got up to face their future, as decided by fickle viewers.  Three of them pulled their too short dresses down and the fourth had to pull her jeans UP because I am guessing she was having crack problems.  But then, after she pulled them up, she did the knee bend (where the knees point away from the body) and pulled the jeans down from the crotch area.  I was struck by how unladylike it all looked...then I thought of all the times I stand and immediately pull my dress down.  I know that it is a necessity because clothes move when you sit, but surely we can be more discreet about it.  I just can't imagine Jackie Kennedy in all her poise and fashion sense yanking on her clothing in public...

That brings up an interesting point. I'm not an Idol watcher. It just doesn't interest me.

Our local Fox affiliate has been pulled from Dish because of contract negotiations. So a lot of people with Dish are pretty peeved because they missed it. (I have Suddenlink and still have Fox. That's beside the point.) Someone was complaining that it (Idol) was the only "family show" on the air at the time.

I just don't see it as a family show. I've seen some real nastiness, cattiness, and downright cruel behavior (giving false hopes to those in the prelims.) Based on what you just described, I would not call this a family show at all.

Just my two cents.

I agree with you. It doesn't sound very lady like at all.
