This Day was B-U-S-Y
Today I decided to make plum jam with plums that Shanna and I picked from some random man's tree while I was in San Angelo. Did you know that if you put boiling hot plums into the blender the lid will explode off sending pureed plums onto every available surface in the kitchen? Yeah. I didn't know that. I sure do now. After an hour of clean-up, I was back on track. 14.5 cups of sugar later, I have 24 jars of jam. And I made two loaves of plum bread. And I decided to go ahead and put up all the garden goods before they rotted. So I have a freezer full of tomatoes, banana peppers, and red bell peppers. And I canned some jalapenos. Then, as if that wasn't enough, I decided to make homemade egg rolls and fried rice for supper. That led to severe clean-up and mopping the whole house. Not to mention the loads of laundry, baths for little girls, making mousse for dessert, and preparing 5 tubs of strawberries for jam making next week. Or next month. Or never. But I have a big bag of strawberries in the freezer ready whenever the mood strikes. My lazy day of organizing the school room turned into a full day in the kitchen. I never even made it to the school room! Oh yeah. I scrubbed out the refrigerator too. And got all the nasty things lurking in corners. It is clean! Just don't look at the rest of the house...

My absolute favorite and just about the only kind I eat is PLUM! My mom made a bunch this year from a neighbor's plums. YUM!
