One week!!

It has been a week since I posted last, and I swear to you it feels more like a month! My brother and his family came to visit last Friday and stayed all week. The kids had a FANTASTIC time playing and Shanna and I ran our tails off chasing them! It was nice getting to talk and talk and talk some more with my sweet sister. We went to the zoo, up to see my cousin Jenn, to Dunkin Donuts (where Shanna squealed with excitement because it was a "real" store and not in a gas station! lol), and just hung out. It was a nice week!

Now I have crafty projects planned. I am going to re-pot and plant some new plants, paint some furniture that is in my kitchen, decoupage some random things, maybe make some curtains, and other smallish "stuff". I can't wait!

The two littles were a bit under the weather two days ago...they had a high fever and no other symptoms (Faith complained of a sore throat). I have to admit, those are my favorite kinds of illness. It almost feels like a break to me! They just lay on the couch all sleepy and quiet for 24 hours...bliss I tell you! :)

Okay. I also have a tough question for you all. Well, not tough. But I need honesty. A long while ago I posted a picture of Faith wearing my swim suit in a goofy way and made some quip about slinghot, stripper, or something of the like. I have had two anonymous posts that were HATEFUL saying I was inviting predators in and was the worst mother in the world and other such mean things...I have looked at this post over and over trying to see how it was "inviting" (and you can search at the top for it using slingshot--it comes up right away, but I don't want to put a link to there right now...). Should I delete it? I keep this blog as a bit of a journal that I can look back on, so that is my hesitation, but if I truly am asking for people to look at her (seems to me that they are the ones with the big problem, not me) then maybe I should remove it. Do me a favor. check out that post and tell me what to do :) Thanks for your help!

Just disallow anonymous comments where someone would have to have a google account to leave a comment. How terrible of someone. A blogger friend of mine just dealt with some very hateful anonymous comments on her blog. Some people in this world can just be so mean.

I know. I can't believe its not blue either. we saw a blue one at Children's Place, and she mentioned it. And Karter got a blue and brown plaid shirt, so I guess that is her blue fix.

I agree with Chelsey. I remember the post and thought it was funny. She will be so embarrassed one day when she is 15. :)

People just like being mean...I have other words for it though. They get pleasure out of making people miserable.

You did not post that picture so people you don't know would look at it. Its not your fault people are sickos, its theirs.

You can make your blog private I think...I don't have a google blog thing so I don't know. Some blogs let you be private and only viewable to certain people. You can also just block anon comments.

Okay, I get to be the only negative one in the group. :( I saw the blog and thought it wasn't the best idea in the world. I have to deal with those sickos, so perhaps I see it a little differently. Although I think she wins the prize for having the cutest tush! I would not have posted it. Please do not yell at me ...I am old and senile! I love you!

Stephanie,

I am not one of your anonymous posters....but I've thought a lot about this issue as I have lots of kids and blog. LOL

I had comments about some cute tub photos and such on my blog. I was informed that after a child reaches a certain age (and it's young) that to show naked photos of them is considered child porn. My first response was to write them all off as weirdos....but then I did some research and it turns out the commenters were right.

I've also received comments that were SICK when sharing about Zander and his love of his big sister.... so...what did I do?

Well - I no longer post any photos of any of the kids that show any body parts that would embarass them later. 1. the purpose of my blog is not to embarass them and 2. I realized quickly that I have no idea who is reading my blog and there ARE some sickos out there - they don't need to see my sweet kids' tushes. I did make an exception when Stacia fell in the toilet - but I cropped the photo I posted.

As for the relationships of my children - I have explained over and over that in our family it went from "love her" (as in I love her and that's my love her) to "lover" and that there is nothing s*xual about it...and I leave those comments.

I do have photo albums that will have some of those photos that I don't want to post but that I still think are darling and not child porn.

Just my thoughts....and yeah...the photo is darling...but given what I learned in research and the comments on my blog...I wouldn't have posted it.

My honest .02. ::snort::

Glad to hear you had a great visit with Shanna. Did you hear that I'm moving to Japan?
