Boiling dough

Today I decided to make bagels and pretzels.  With the healthier eating (not low calorie--we aren't on a diet), the girls seem to be starving all day (me too), so I wanted something that was whole wheat with not much sugar.  We needed ideas for breakfast that wasn't an egg, because some of us gag when we have to eat them too often, or something drenched in syrup.  This is what I decided on.   I soaked my grain last night (I freshly milled it), so this morning I just put it all together while the girls had school in the kitchen.

Boiling for 7 minutes.  SO weird to boil dough.

The pretzels taste really great!  And I know I said I wanted not so much sugar, but we HAD to sprinkle cinnamon sugar on some for a treat!  I had to stop Gracie because she was trying to eat the whole pan...
I haven't tried the bagels yet, but they smelled divine!
