Camp

Camp was filled with wonder and awesomeness and some really not so great things too.  What makes all the not so great things bearable is that FIVE teenagers accepted Christ as their Savior!  PRAISE TO THE FATHER!!  As a follower of Jesus, I love nothing more than the opportunity to lead someone to Christ, and I had the awesome responsibility of leading two of the girls in my room to Him.  It just puts me on a high that rivals nothing else.  Our youth are truly a special group.  They loved on each other and made everyone feel accepted.  It was great!
The camp was absolutely beautiful.  Seeing mountains makes me think of how awesome our God is and how those mountains bow to Him.  It puts life in perspective for me.  Love it!  I was forced to had the privilege of backpacking up the mountain to spend the night under the stars.  With creatures I couldn't see. Among people who like to sing but really should not do so.  It was awesome.  really.

My favorite thing, other than telling those girls how much Jesus adores them, was meeting Jenny from Addison Road.  The band was fabulous, and I think I could easily become a stalker of Jenny.  I think she really wants to be my best friend.  So, now my goal is to learn all her songs so I can pretend to be her.  Yep.  Not creepy at all.
We also did the zip line and this really high big swing.  And I played games.  Crazy, I know.  Those of you who know me well, know that I do not play games.  I just don't!  But I did.  And I rocked them!!  ha!  Seriously though, I was pushed out of my comfort zone and not allowed back in.  It was good for me...I connected with our kids like I wouldn't have had I decided to sit around and only watch (like I REALLY wanted to do).  So I have decided, no more sideline watching for me.  I'm playing!  And you better watch out because I am BAD at games!!  Ha!!

There was this final big relay the last day of camp.  It was painful and hard and totally invigorating.  We, of course, had to pose it up after the relay!  I'm just praising Jesus I survived it!  AND, the adults came in second in our heat. :)

I guess this means I have to stalk Jenny, too, since I want to be you and now you want to be her! Agh!
