Christmas Card Picture

I know it is kinda ruining the suspense, but I was just so happy with how these turned out (if you only knew how difficult it was to keep them sitting!! or in the frame...)! My best friend took them. And she only got a few before the monkeys started climbing the trees. So now I guess my card must really rock since I already showed you the picture... ahhh. but which picture??

SHOPPING

Thanksgiving is past, and Christmas is coming!! I am so excited! This is my FAVORITE time of year. I love to shop (of course) and to wrap and to watch the faces of the people who receive the gifts. It delights me. Unless they hate my present. But that just doesn't happen. I am a professional shopper. lol Just ask Cam. And, I found out yesterday that I get my "shopping gene" from Aunt Cindy. She loves it more than I do. Crazy! Here I thought I was programmed all wrong or something, but nope! I am just like crazy aunt Cindy! So here's to shopping...(imagine me toasting you with coffe or something)

Look what I did today!!

Sad isn't it? There was NO other place for the stockings!
The chicas decorated all by themselves this year. Brave Mama I am :)
And not that I need to explain myself to you peeps, but for some reason I have major anxiety about what will happen after Thanksgiving. I keep thinking how when I return to tiny-ville we will have three and one half weeks until Christmas. In that time, I have to prepare scrapbooks for my girlies and letters for them open while we are in China. I have to pack myself and the kids. I have to shop for presents. I have to bake. I have to wrap said presents. I want to enjoy my new friends and the holidays. I want to return home for Ellie's intended's birthday. There is just A LOT to do...and I thought that if I waited to make the home festive until I got back, it wouldn't happen cheerfully. So, as I type, I am reflecting twinkle lights and enjoying the ambiance that only Christmas can bring...

Upcoming Plans

Just letting y'all know our plans...

Sunday: Cam leads worship again in the am, and they vote on him to fill the worship pastor position in the pm. We are told that there has been an overwhelmingly positive response to him and that the vote is simply a formality. We are EXCITED. God has provided in such a surreal way that it makes my head spin and my mouth sputter...

Sunday late: we are leaving as soon as the Thanksgiving Banquet at church (when they vote) is over to head to San Angelo. We will spend the entire week there. We will return home Saturday late afternoon after my grandparents celebrate 50 years together. How great is that?!! What a testimony!

So. All this said, I will probably not post again until the week after Thanksgiving. Love y'all!! Have a great day of giving thanks to the King!

Peppermint Creme Oreos

Go get you some. They are wonderful!!

Negative Integers

umm...I am supposed to be teaching Gracie negative integers. Sounds fun doesn't it?! lol
Good thing I really really like math. And good thing she does too. haha Crazy that first graders learn that. I didn't think I learned that until I was WAY older. Like Jr. High. But then again, we didn't go through puberty until then either. And now they do that in 4th grade. Why in the world do our kids have to grow up so fast??

Farewell Tippecanoe

Our sweet Lhasa Apso Tippecanoe Tyler Strange aka Tippy was tragically hit by a motor vehicle this morning on the farm road by her grandparents home. My Dad buried her this morning, and my dear Gracie is not taking it well. She had deemed Tippy as her pet, and she is devastated. Tippy was my first Christmas gift as a wife from my groom. We have had her for almost 9 years...

Blahs

I've got nothing for you.

I took my final last night for the class I enrolled in thinking it was social. It wasn't. Our final was TWENTY essay questions. I thought my hand would fall off.

My dear sweet Ellie has been rotten. Like wayyyyyyy beyond it actually. I am not sure what else to do to with her.

Faith came to me and asked me if I knew why she was crying while she asleep (umm...sure since I knew you were crying). She said, "I dreamed you gave us away". Well. yeah. not sure what to say about that.

My children have been up by 6:30ish the last 3 days. This is NOT normal around here. And they have decided not to take naps. I'm dragging.

The girls and I are not going to church tonight. So I have to cook supper. And I have no ideas. I do that on Mondays bc I cannot think when it is time to cook...but Cameron will be at church practicing (they asked him to lead again Sunday) so perhaps we can have cereal?

I am trying to talk my Mama into coming here this weekend. Or now. Whenever. Then I am running away. My man and I are going to date. Seriously date. Maybe even...oh never mind. Seriously, I have to go to the Galleria because Gracie has it in her one track mind that Santa must bring her Samantha (the American Girl doll who happens to be retiring so they are majorly backordered). So that means we have to go to the store and shell out $100 for a doll. A doll. I told them they could ask for one thing. How do I not get her the one thing??? Not sure she will get anything else though!! I keep telling myself it is okay because all Ellie is interested in is the $5 broom at the toy store. $100 on Gracie. $5 on Ellie. That average is good...LOL

We are getting really close to being funded for our China trip. We needed $6000. I think we have over $5000. God is good.

Church

Church went well yesterday. I LOVE to watch Cameron play. It makes me swell up with pride (and isn't that a good thing to feel for your husband every now and then!!?) The musicians on the stage with him were fantastic! There were 3 other singers who all sang a different part, and my favorite was a young black man (high school? college? not sure). His name is Aaron, and he is the most respectful, genuinely nice young man I have encountered in awhile. And the boy can sing. Oh my. he can SING. Just imagine...arms lifted up from his sides, black pants, white shirt, white sport coat, muscles, and the sweetest, smoothest sound being lifted up to the Father...gave me goose bumps...I hope we get to go back. I want to be there. I'll keep you posted...Oh! by the way. The church is Lakeview Fellowship if you feel like being nosy. ;)

HORRIBLE mama

"Trick or Treat!" We had a baaaaad day with the tempers yesterday. It was so bad I cried once we made it to the car. But then, while trick or treating, it refreshed my tired heart to hear Ellie saying "Trick or Treat" and "Thank You" to every single house. There is just something so indescribably sweet about hearing those words coming out of the mouth of a one year old.

These girls were p-i-c-k-y. They wanted to choose their treat. Stinkers.

This is the littles with Shawna's hunky single neighbor. Thought I would take a picture for you to see. He just smiled and said they were the cutest things ever...

I took 4 pictures of Halloween. I know! It's awful. All that work on the dresses, and no pictures. AND the little stinkers wouldn't wear their hats, so they didn't really look dressed up (not to mention that Ellie played in water that was running down the street and soaked her black shoes and had to wear her pink glittery ones. Or the fact that I didn't find tights for them to wear. So we really just won't mention it. Or notice it. Okay?). But the older generation loved the cuteness of sweet matching sisters...
