Home Sweet Home

We are home!! After 12 days of living in a tent and/or my car, my home seems beautifully large!! I don't have many pictures of our trip into the mountains...my camera decided to stop working the first day there. What luck is that! We had a really nice time though. The girls rode their bikes and played outside all day everyday. They have never been so dirty! I'm not sure that people who saw them knew they were little white girls. Ellie even had a dirty brown face from trying diligently to get all the ground into her mouth. We all slept in a tent where our wake up temperature was in the low forties. It was sooooo cold! But then the sun came out and fried us in the afternoon. 85 degrees on top of a mountain is HOT. We all have nice little sunburns...
We went to Crested Butte for the 4th. They have the BEST parade! It is so long with lots of candy and music. It is exactly what a parade should be. The girls loved it! Ellie slept in her GG's arms for most of it, but when she awoke, Faith shared (gave) her sucker to Ellie. This was Ellie's first sucker, and she would NOT let go! We were both a sticky happy mess. The trip, despite the fourteen hour car rides, was well worth it. We are rested and so glad to be home. We will definitely miss the cold mornings and the campfire coffee (why is that so much better than coffee at home?!), but they are memories we can hold on to until next summer when they get to become reality once again.
