hmmmm...

It has been an eventful week around here! Let's see...

Saturday (the day before Mother's Day): My sister-in-law, Shanna (Bryan's wife, for any of you who get confused trying to keep Shawna, Shanna, and Shannon apart), told me she was going to have a baby!! Yay! I am just thrilled about this news!

Sunday, Mother's Day: It was just a good day. I got to wear my Easter dress (finally!), I got some really great singing cards from my husband and girls (Gracie chose a Barbie one) and an AWESOME ice cream maker that makes homemade ice cream in 25 minutes without the use of salt or ice. Not to mention the early gifts of Birkenstocks and pearls that I received. Yes. I am just that good a mommy. hehehe :)

Monday: Cam and I entered a whole new level of our marriage that has a lot to do with the correlation between our walk with Christ and honesty between one another. It happened a little after midnight, and let me just tell you, it is awesome! We have this closer intimacy that no one is included in. It is like we live in a bubble where people can see us but they can't hear what we are saying.

Tuesday: The guys were at Amistad fishing, and my girls were little monsters. I had to spank the big 2 with a wooden spoon (my paddle is missing!), which I have never done before, and it broke both their hearts (or it just hurt really really bad). They cried like I haven't heard before, which almost made me cry, but they did act much better after that.

Wednesday: The girlies went and played with cousins all day, so Ellie and I got some rest. We also got the truck cleaned and the carpets shampooed and the oil changed. It is looking and smelling new again (which really helps me be content with what I have instead of pining after that new Expedition EL). Ellie crawled into the office chair and cut her eye. There was blood dripping down her little cheek. It was just awful! But that happens when children get mobile. She is sitting up on her own and on her knees trying hard to coordinate her arms to move with her knees. She seems to have skipped the part where they pull themselves around on their tummies. She just throws herself across the room. Very Very Cute.

Thursday: So far today, I have cleaned out a basket of crap that accumulated in the garage, done a few loads of laundry, colored with the girlies, sent out a note of encouragment to a friend, cooked lunch, made bread for dinner tonight, and put the girls down for a nap. Now that this is complete, I am going to lie down and read my book. I can't wait!!
